Luv’s Brownies Celebrates 30 Years and Fifth Annual “Grit Award” Scholarship

As Andrea Lacy, Founder and CEO of Luv’s Brownies, approaches the 30th anniversary of her beloved Bay Area bakery, she is also marking a meaningful milestone—the fifth year of the “Grit Award” Scholarship, designed to recognize students who have demonstrated resilience, determination, and courage in overcoming personal challenges.

The scholarship reflects Lacy’slong-standing commitment to community empowerment, education, and opportunity, celebrating young people who show grit in the face of adversity while pursuing higher education or vocational training.

Scholarship Details:
1. Number of Awards: Up to 3 scholarships
2. Value: $500 each
3. Eligibility: Students must demonstrate resilience, courage, and determination, and be enrolled full-time at a four-year college, community college, or vocational school.

Applicants are asked to submit:

1. A 500-word essay describing their personal “grit story”
2. Letters of recommendation
3. Proof of community service
4. Verification of full-time enrollment
5. Evidence of financial hardship

Applications for the 2026 cycle open December 1, 2025, and are due by 10 p.m. PST on Friday, May 28, 2026, at www.luvsbrownies.com/scholarship
