LOS ANGELES — Bad Bunny is officially an Emmy winner.
The Puerto Rican superstar won his first Primetime Emmy on Saturday, September 5, for “The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny.” He was credited as both a producer and performer on the record-setting production.
The performance entered the 2026 Emmy Awards with a historic nine nominations, the most ever received by a Super Bowl halftime show. It went on to win seven awards, including Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Directing, Music Direction, Choreography, Lighting Design, Sound Mixing, and Technical Direction and Camerawork.
The seven victories make Bad Bunny’s halftime performance the most-awarded Super Bowl halftime show in Emmy history, surpassing the previous record held by the 2022 performance featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, did not attend the ceremony, but his historic performance dominated the first night of the 78th Emmy Awards.
The Super Bowl LX halftime show took place February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The performance featured special appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin and drew widespread attention for its celebration of Puerto Rican and Latino culture.
The Emmy win adds another major achievement to Bad Bunny’s growing list of accomplishments and further cements his Super Bowl performance as one of the most decorated halftime shows in television history.
