WINDSOR, UK — Prince George has officially begun the next chapter of his education, arriving at the prestigious Eton College on Tuesday, September 8, accompanied by his parents, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The 13-year-old future king was welcomed by Eton headmaster Simon Henderson as he began life at the historic boarding school near Windsor. George previously attended Lambrook School alongside his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
George is following a well-known family tradition. His father, Prince William, attended Eton from 1995 to 2000, while his uncle, Prince Harry, studied there from 1998 to 2003.
Founded by King Henry VI in 1440, Eton has educated generations of prominent British figures, including 20 former prime ministers. The school is also known for its centuries-old traditions and distinctive formal uniform.
George’s arrival marks a particularly significant milestone as he prepares for his future role as second in line to the British throne. His first day also coincided with the fourth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death and King Charles III’s accession to the throne.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have asked that their son’s privacy be respected throughout his education, reflecting the family’s effort to give George as normal a school experience as possible despite his future position.
