A man has died following a fatal incident at Six Flags Over Georgia, where witnesses reported seeing him fall from a roller coaster at the amusement park near Atlanta. The Cobb County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Witnesses told local news outlets that they saw the man fall from the Goliath roller coaster. Some described seeing him strike parts of the ride as he fell. However, authorities have not officially confirmed the exact circumstances of the fall or what caused the incident.

Following the incident, riders were evacuated from the Goliath after the coaster stopped on an incline. The park later closed as emergency personnel and local authorities responded to the scene.

Six Flags expressed condolences to the deceased guest’s family and loved ones, saying the park was also providing support to affected visitors and employees. The company confirmed that it is cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.

As a precaution, Six Flags temporarily closed nine similar roller coasters across six other parks while officials investigate the incident. The company said the closures were made out of an abundance of caution.

The victim’s identity has not been publicly released. Authorities have also not provided details about the injuries sustained by other guests or determined the cause of the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not yet confirmed whether a mechanical issue or another factor contributed to the tragedy.
