Jay-Z to Headline Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show in February 2027

October 27, 2026

Jay-Z is stepping into the spotlight at one of the biggest stages in entertainment. The Grammy-winning rapper has been announced as the headliner for the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The announcement was made Monday by the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation during the Dallas Cowboys–Philadelphia Eagles game. The performance marks a major milestone for Jay-Z, who has spent years helping shape the Super Bowl’s musical entertainment behind the scenes.

Since 2019, Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, has partnered with the NFL as its strategic entertainment adviser and helped produce the halftime show. The partnership has brought major artists to the stage, including Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, The Weeknd, Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, said performing at the Super Bowl represents the continuation of a journey spanning three decades of music and cultural influence. His announcement comes during a year celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, which helped establish his place in hip-hop history.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell welcomed the announcement, saying he had hoped Jay-Z would eventually take the stage himself after their partnership began. Roc Nation will executive-produce the halftime show, with Hamish Hamilton serving as director.

The lineup of potential special guests has not yet been announced, leaving fans speculating about which artists might join the rapper. With his extensive catalog of hits and decades of influence in music, Jay-Z’s upcoming performance is already generating anticipation ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.
