Michelle Williams is proving that it is never too late to finish what you started.
The Destiny’s Child alum and accomplished Broadway performer recently revealed that she is back in the classroom, now studying psychology as a sophomore at Regent University. Williams shared the news on Instagram, admitting that she initially hesitated to announce her return because she wondered whether she would be able to complete her degree.
Williams previously attended Illinois State University after high school, studying criminal justice for two years before stepping away from college to pursue her music career. That decision ultimately led to an extraordinary career in entertainment, including her years as a member of Destiny’s Child and her work as a solo artist and Broadway performer.
Now, years later, Williams has chosen to return to higher education on her own terms. Her decision offers a reminder that education does not have to follow a specific timeline. Whether someone returns to school after a few years or several decades, the opportunity to learn and complete a personal goal remains available.

Williams also brought her trademark humor to the announcement, joking that she is studying psychology “because y’all need help,” before adding that she was kidding — “kinda.” She also praised her advisors and professors and asked her followers to pray for her endurance and focus.
Regent University offers undergraduate psychology programs both online and on campus, with coursework focused on areas including human behavior, research and counseling-related studies.
For Williams, this chapter represents more than simply returning to school. It is an example of lifelong learning and the courage to pursue a goal that was once placed on hold. Her story shows that professional success and personal growth can continue to evolve together.
As she balances her education with an already accomplished career, Williams is sending a simple message: there is no expiration date on learning, growth or finishing what matters to you.
