Morris Brown College is strengthening its esports and STEM offerings with a $5,000 donation from Delta Community Credit Union aimed at upgrading technology in the school’s esports laboratory.
The contribution will help provide new technology hardware and equipment for students, giving them greater access to tools used in esports, digital production and broadcasting.
College officials say the funding will support production equipment for livestreaming and broadcasting training, along with wireless peripherals and other technology needed to modernize the lab.
The school also plans to make the esports innovation lab a more versatile learning environment. Rather than focusing solely on competitive gaming, the space is expected to support hands-on education across technology, business and other STEM-related fields.
Morris Brown launched its esports program in 2021 as part of an effort to create new educational and career opportunities for students interested in gaming and technology.
