U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina has officially announced his campaign for the U.S. Senate, entering the race to succeed the late Sen. Lindsey Graham.
Norman, who has represented South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District since 2017, said he is seeking the Senate seat to continue advocating for conservative policies and representing the interests of South Carolinians in Washington.
His announcement immediately positions him as one of the leading contenders in what is expected to become a closely watched Senate race. Political analysts anticipate a competitive contest as candidates from both parties prepare to campaign for one of South Carolina’s most prominent elected offices.
During his time in Congress, Norman has been known for his support of fiscal conservatism, border security, lower taxes, and limited government. He has also served on the House Financial Services Committee, where he has worked on issues involving banking, housing, and economic policy.
The Senate seat became vacant following the death of longtime Sen. Lindsey Graham, whose decades of public service left a significant mark on South Carolina politics and national affairs.
