Wiz Khalifa has reportedly been placed on Romania’s wanted persons list after allegedly failing to report for a nine-month prison sentence connected to a drug possession case stemming from a 2024 music festival appearance.
According to Romanian media reports, authorities issued an enforcement warrant after the rapper — whose legal name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz — did not surrender following a final court ruling tied to cannabis possession charges.
The case reportedly began after Wiz Khalifa performed at the “Beach, Please!” festival in Costinești, Romania, where prosecutors alleged he smoked cannabis on stage and was later found in possession of more than 18 grams of marijuana. Romanian courts ultimately sentenced the artist to nine months in prison after prosecutors appealed an earlier ruling that only imposed a financial fine.
Reports indicate that Romania’s High Court rejected the rapper’s appeal earlier this year, making the prison sentence final and enforceable.
Romania maintains some of the stricter drug laws within Europe, where possession of cannabis for personal use can still result in criminal penalties including prison time.
At this time, neither Wiz Khalifa nor his representatives have publicly announced whether the rapper plans to respond to the reported warrant or pursue additional legal action regarding the case.
