Harry Kane has officially been crowned the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or winner, earning football’s most prestigious individual honor after a remarkable season with Bayern Munich and the England national team. The 33-year-old striker received the award at the 70th annual ceremony at London’s Palladium on October 26.
Kane’s victory makes him the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001 and only the fifth English player to claim the prestigious trophy. His achievement marks a major milestone in a career defined by consistent goalscoring, leadership and determination.
The Bayern Munich forward enjoyed the most prolific campaign of his career in 2025–26, scoring 73 goals in 65 appearances for club and country. He scored 61 goals for Bayern and 12 for England, helping the German club secure domestic silverware while continuing to lead his country on the international stage.

Kane finished ahead of Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé, who placed second, and Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, who finished third. Kane also collected the men’s Striker of the Year award in recognition of his extraordinary scoring record.

During his acceptance speech, Kane expressed gratitude to the people who supported his journey, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, hard work and overcoming setbacks. His path to the top included loan spells early in his career before he developed into one of the world’s leading forwards.
The Ballon d’Or triumph adds another defining chapter to Kane’s legacy and ends a quarter-century wait for an English winner. For the Bayern star, it represents recognition not only of his goals but also of the determination that carried him to the summit of world football.
