The Cedars-Sinai Sunset Soiree took over the Warner Bros. lot on Sunday night and made history, raising over $3.1 million in support of the Board of Governors’ Innovation to Impact campaign. Organizers confirm it is the highest-grossing Cedars gala ever.
Power Players on the Lot
The evening was chaired by newly crowned Skydance streaming boss Casey Bloys, the former HBO chief executive, alongside WME co-chairman Richard Weitz. Bloys had signed a multiyear extension just days earlier following the Paramount and Warner Bros. merger, and insiders noted with relief that the gala was not doubling as his Warner farewell.
The creators of HBO’s medical drama The Pitt were honored by the real-life healers in the room. Noah Wyle, John Wells, and R. Scott Gemmill received the Hollywood Leadership Award, presented by The Pitt star Katherine LaNasa. Jaime and Andrew Schwartzberg received the Philanthropic Leadership Award. Andy Grammer performed, and Beverly Hills favorite Steak 48 handled the food as a pop-up.
Rain, Rewritten
When the forecast called for rain, organizers moved the event inside to Stages 23 and 30, a pivot Weitz joked about from the stage. “When we named this the ‘Sunset Soiree,’ we weren’t expecting to pick the one day it rains in Los Angeles,” he told the crowd. The dress code was Fall Evening Chic, and the HBO talent and brass held a front table.
Why It Matters
Record-breaking galas are not just society page fodder. The $3.1 million raised flows directly into medical innovation at one of the nation’s leading hospitals, and the room itself, packed with the executives reshaping Hollywood, signals where cultural power is choosing to aim its generosity.
