Actor Noah Wyle has officially been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2026, adding another milestone to a career that has recently experienced a major resurgence thanks to his acclaimed performance in the hit medical drama The Pitt. The 55-year-old actor was announced as this year’s honoree on October 27.
Wyle, who portrays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch in The Pitt, admitted he initially thought the news was a prank. He told People that he never imagined receiving the honor, but his wife, Sara Wells, encouraged him to embrace the recognition.
The announcement comes after a standout year for Wyle, who won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his work on The Pitt. The show also received the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, further cementing its place among television’s most talked-about productions.

Wyle first became a household name playing medical student and physician Dr. John Carter on the long-running NBC series ER. His return to the medical-drama genre decades later has introduced him to a new generation of viewers while rekindling the admiration of longtime fans.
Beyond his acting career, Wyle is a husband and father of three. He shares two children with his former wife, Tracy Warbin, and a daughter with Wells, whom he married in 2014. He has also supported charitable initiatives through the Noah Wyle Foundation, which focuses on helping underserved communities, including children experiencing mental health challenges and food insecurity.
Wyle follows Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, who received the title in 2025, and John Krasinski, the 2024 honoree. His selection adds a new chapter to the annual tradition, which People magazine began in 1985.
